Anonymous Giving

assist others in any way you are able when assistance is requested, but do so anonymously if possible

giftsGiving is the gift that gives it’s own rewards.

Helping another in need changes your soul for the better. There is no way to reach out and help your fellow human beings without being changed for the experience and when you do this anonymously this is a whole different set of rewards.

Helping another with no expectation of thanks or reward is in itself truly gratifying. There is a feeling that washes over you of warmth and grace. Creating a feeling of hope, joy, and gratitude within another being brings those same feelings within the self and more.

If you are fortunate enough to be nearby when the gift is received to see the reaction that’s wonderful but you don’t need to be. One can imagine the reaction of someone receiving a surprise gift.

This week my challenge to you is thus, pick something from the list below and do it or something similar. Do this thing anonymously. If you’d like to come back later and share what you did in comments or tell me in comments about an anonymous good you have done before.

line break

  1. Pay for someone’s meal anonymously while eating out.

  2. Leave groceries on the doorstep of someone in need.

  3. Send a card with money in it to someone who could use it, do not sign the card or put your name on the envelope.

  4. Send flowers to someone to brighten their day.

  5. Pay for coffee for the people behind you in a coffee line (you pick how many) then just go on your way.

  6. Leave wrapped gifts for a family in need (this doesn’t have to be on just Christmas)

  7. Buy a gift card to a store or restaraunt and tape it to someone’s door or slide it in with their mail.

  8. Come up with an idea for kindness and do it anonymously.
